This project required a renovation of a 50-room, 24,000-square foot motel. The existing building was a boxy and utilitarian-looking three-story building with almost no architectural features. As the property is in a desirable area close to the annual Rose Bowl Game and Rose Bowl – as well as Occidental College – the hotel has the advantage of generating year-round occupancy. ADC’s challenge was to develop a more upscale, resort-like look and feel to attract in-town and out-of-town guests to increase occupancy. This project also included the renovation of its public lobby with a new check-in counter, lighting, floor, and other finishes.
